I am a fan of Dover Thrift Editions, but I don't recommend the Dover "Volpone" edition for a first reading of Jonson as the footnotes are sparse/5(41).
"The Alchemist" is more like "Volpone". The main characters are unscrupulous con-men; their targets are gullible, greedy individuals.
